At the end of this internship we would anticipate that the individual will have developed a wide range of competencies including lameness investigation with particular expertise in diagnostic analgesia, anaesthesia, reproductive work, diagnostic imaging and management of colic cases.
This internship will prepare the applicant to enter equine ambulatory practice or apply for further postgraduate training.
The interns are responsible for in-patient care, client communication and will assist with out-patient appointments, emergency admissions and surgery.
The intern is encouraged to complete a case report/series with the final aim of publication in a peer reviewed journal and relevant support will be given for this.
Chine House Veterinary Hospital is a well equipped and RCVS accredited equine hospital with stabling for at least 20 in patients, a supportive and friendly team of vets and nurses including specialists in Equine surgery and Equine Medicine.
The case-load is very mixed providing a broad base of experience.

Accommodation will be provided on site and the out of hours rota is 1:2, including phone duties. One day off a week is to be provided following a weekend on call. Salary is fixed at £19,000 and there is a contributory pension scheme available.
