Essential services
Outstanding facilities and services, under one roof
The vast breadth of experience within our team means that we’re well equipped to deliver all manner of services, from routine check-ups with your usual vet to more complex investigations and surgery with our trusted visiting advanced practitioners and certificate holders.
Our RCVS-accredited veterinary hospital has excellent facilities, including dedicated hospitalisation, critical care and isolation wards, kennels, an operating theatre, an in-house laboratory and a diagnostic imaging suite.
We’re proud to be part of the VetPartners veterinary group, our respected, like-minded network of vets and vet nurses from around the country.
Vaccinations
Routine vaccinations for dogs, cats and other small animals, plus boosters and starter courses for new and rehomed pets.
Vaccination is vital in protecting your pet from key infectious diseases that cause pain, distress and can be life-threatening.
Annual preventative healthcare and vaccination appointments provide an opportunity for regular health checks for your pet and an understanding of their needs.
Neutering
Neutering is a surgical procedure which takes away a pet’s ability to reproduce. It is known as spaying in females and castration in males.
Spaying, sometimes spelt speying, involves the removal of the ovaries and uterus (womb). Castration is the removal of the testes (testicles).
Neutering pets can be beneficial for their health and wellbeing, as well as preventing unplanned litters.
Microchipping
Microchipping is a safe and permanent way of identifying your pet and is the best way to ensure that they can be returned to you if they are lost or stolen.
Many pets can be microchipped, including dogs, cats, rabbits and a variety of other species.
Travel and health certificates
Travel advice, documentation and preparation to help you and your pet to travel safely and without difficulty.
Dental care
We can offer advice on optimal dental hygiene, as well as procedures if and when action is necessary.
When your pets visit us we will routinely undergo a full clinical examination, which includes looking inside their mouths and at their teeth.
Saying goodbye
We know how difficult it is to lose a pet, and are here to help you through the process with compassion and understanding.
Our experienced team can discuss your options and guide you through this process in a sensitive and caring manner.
We always have you and your pet at the centre of end-of-life discussions, and our vets and nurses are happy to talk and listen as you come to terms with this decision.
You may choose to be with your pet while they are put to sleep, or you may not wish to be present. The choice is yours and we try to make adjustments to ensure you and your pet are as comfortable as possible.
We work with Chestnut Lodge Pet Crematorium and Pet Cemetery Services to provide a compassionate cremation service and a fitting memorial for your pet.
Compassion Understood is a service which provides support for pet owners before, during and after a bereavement, to help you to reach the best decision and to cope with your pet’s passing.
